Shafts

Lacrosse shafts have developed massively over the years, and the days of low performance shafts are almost done. Nowadays there are is a huge amount of technology in each and every shaft. The two most common types of shafts are the metal shaft, which are usually an aluminium base with a strong component such as titanium or scandium. The levels of performance varies with the strength-to-weight ratio, and obviously this reflects the price of the shaft. The other main type of shaft is a composite shaft. These shafts have a huge amount of technology put into their development, with most having specific characteristics such as high flex or extreme strength. The feel of a composite shaft is different to that of a metal shaft, and it is really a preference issue which will obviously vary from person to person. Finding the right shaft for your stick will come down to many different factors, and it is completely subjective, which is why you will see hundreds and hundreds of shafts on the market!
